Obituary:

Loretta (Mahloch) Bergmeier, 85 years of age, of Beatrice, formerly of DeWitt passed away Friday morning, February 19, 2010, at the Beatrice Manor Care Center. She was born in Beatrice on August 24, 1924 to John and Augusta (Seitz) Mahloch. Loretta married Arnold E. Bergmeier on November 28, 1946 in the Trinity Lutheran Church of R. Beatrice. He preceded her in 1995. She worked at Petersen Manufacturing for many years. Loretta was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of DeWitt and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Loretta is survived by a daughter, Marge and Randy Badman; 2 sons, Steven and Teresa Bergmeier, Michael Bergmeier and friend Troy Geistlinger, all of the DeWitt area; a daughter-in-law, Sharon McCracken of Kearney; 7 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; 1 step great great grandchild; 2 sisters, Lila Brolhorst of Beatrice, Enola Dauber of R. Beatrice; a brother, Lee and Monica Mahloch of Lincoln; 2 sisters-in-law, Elaine Scherling, Dorothy Mahloch; a brother-in-law, Harold and Eileen Bergmeier; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Allen; a granddaughter, Ashley; her parents; and a brother, Allen Mahloch.

Memorial:

A memorial has been established to the church and the DeWitt Senior Center Quilting Group with Jerry and Bette Mangels in charge.

Cemetery:

Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitations:

The body will lie in state from 1-9 PM on Monday, February 22, 2010, from 9-noon on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at the Venrick-Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in DeWitt and at the church on Tuesday one hour preceding the service.

Services:

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in the Trinity Lutheran Church of DeWitt with Rev. Ken Kramer officiating.
