Maude E. (McGinnis) Hochstedler, 90 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Saturday morning, September 18, 2010 at the Beatrice Community Hospital. She was born on May 15, 1920 in Salem to Joseph and Florence (Mitchell) McGinnis. Maude attended Humboldt High School. She married Keith “Pappy” Hochstedler on September 10, 1938 in Marysville, Kansas and had lived in Beatrice since 1944. Maude was the Co-Owner of K&M Trucking. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, a lifetime PTA member, a Sunday School Teacher, and a Girl Scout Leader. Maude enjoyed bowling, dirt track racing, NASCAR, spending time with her family and children in general.
Maude is survived by her daughter, Connie Reiber; 4 grandchildren, Deborah Reiber-Joyce, Cindy Reiber, Michael Reiber and fiancée Kim Whitehead, Scott Reiber and fiancée Melody Herfel, all of Beatrice; 7 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 1 great great great grandchild; a sister, Leona Gossman of Lincoln; and a brother, Richard and Bonnie McGinnis of Conway, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith “Pappy” Hochstedler; a son, James Hochstedler; a grandson, Garry Reiber; a sister, June Williams; and 4 brothers, Joseph, Jack, Earl, and Eugene McGinnis.
